Description

The Card/Riley Conservation and Wildlife Education Center at Ferris State University is a must-see attraction in Big Rapids, Michigan, offering visitors an immersive look at wildlife from around the world. Located on the ground floor of the Arts, Sciences and Education Commons (Room 011) on Ferris State’s campus, this 5,000 square foot, free public museum showcases an extraordinary collection of animal mounts, artifacts, and educational exhibits.

Open to the public at no cost, the Card/Riley Center serves Ferris State students, K–12 school groups, families, and visitors from across Michigan and beyond. Current hours of operation can be found on the official Card/Riley Conservation and Wildlife Education Center website.

A World-Class Wildlife Collection in Big Rapids

The Center features hundreds of wildlife specimens representing ecosystems from Michigan, North America, Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and Australia, making it one of the most unique educational attractions in the region.

Community Space and Educational Programming

The Card/Riley Center also features a meeting and presentation room with seating for up to 40 people and built-in projection capabilities. This space is available for small professional meetings, educational programs, and community gatherings.

A Legacy of Conservation and Education

Originally founded through the generosity of Ferris State alumnus Roger Card and his late wife, Debra, the Center was later renamed to honor George F. Riley, whose estate gift made the facility the permanent home of The Riley Collection. The Center reflects the rich hunting, fishing, and conservation heritage of northern Michigan, while promoting wildlife education and stewardship for future generations.
